Embrace BadjaoA Mission For Relief And Continued Education

The Badjao are an indigenous tribe living above the shoreline in Davao, Philippines. The Badjao live in extreme poverty. They are marginalised by Philippines society and receive very little support from their Government. They have no running water and no sanitation.

Badjao children receive very little education and as a result do not attempt to break the cycle of poverty they are caught in. Many Badjao children are forced to beg on the street, this further increases societies negative view of the tribe. Embrace Badjao was founded with the ethical principle to help Badjao children access education, that is too often denied to them.

The Badjao also suffer due to malnourishment and children often die as a result of very curable diseases. Embrace Badjao aims to set up a medical & food mission to ensure that no Badjao child is malnourished and has the same rights as every other child in Davao.

Embrace Badjao have built a school in the Badjao community and Dukes Foundation will fund two teachers, to work in the school for a year and provide Badjao children with education that is currently inaccessible.
